Seasons in Southern Africa are reversed from those of the Northern Hemisphere with spring and summer from September to March and autumn and winter from April to August. The Garden Route and Nature's Valley has a Mediterranean Maritime climate, with moderately hot summers, and mild to chilly winter nights. Summer temperatures range from 22 to 30 C. and autumn/winter temperatures average 18 C. Nature's Valley water temperatures vary from approximately 14 degrees in winter to 23 degrees in summer.

Any time of the year is good for visiting the area, though be warned that although Nature's Valley is generally peaceful, it is a bustling summer resort in December. In the winter months expect a quiet retreat with lots of sunny, warm days and cool to cold evenings. January to April and October to December are exceptionally pleasant times with temperature in the mid to high 20s and little tourism.
